Sarena Maneesh always seemed to posses so much talent based on this truly sick song, one of my favorites of the 2000s. But other than this amazing track they just torture with tame, undeveloped stuff.

nice job chris, i think the video looks great. however i find it interesting that a director of a music video in this genre can publicly say without shame that they've never heard of the band Curve.
wow.

watch them on stage-they'll kick your ass too
mizike80 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
this music is boring... these are just some kids with makeup whispering and hitting a couple chords. Don't get me wrong I love real music like swervedriver, mybloodyvalentine, etc.. this is like some cheap dimestore version of spacemen 3 + MBV... WACK

Sorry, never heard of the band, the song or seen the video. Having that said, the use of a baroque setting and band members being roused from their sleep by their music has been done in many ways in many videos. The difference is in how you make an unique universe for that specific band. If you want to learn to understand art you should try to start looking for details not just whats right in your face. Then you will see the difference and it will open up a new world to you

So, the concept for this video was pretty blatantly ripped from the video for Curve's "Clipped." Baroque setting, band members being roused from their sleep by the music, etc.

the best thing with this band is experiencing these guys live. seen 'em 5 or 6 times now and everytime they change the setup and do different things with the songs. not like bob dylan who fucks old gems up but change them in a way that makes them better more interesting. On the album the songs are restricted and trapped but live they're unleashed! look forward to the next album, I mean the next tour!BIG time! |
