very poor musicianship don't cut the notes off let them stretch and broaden. Also the tempo is much to fast you need to let the tension build and really make it beautiful

yes the sheet music does start on a d chord, but when you match the sound of a D chord against the CD/MP3 of the song, its actually a Db. - on the top of the sheet music it says "drop half a step" - therefore it is actually Db.
