I like how the lady who is presenting the news about this fakery looks - at least at a casual glance - more middle eastern than the woman performing the hoax.

Good thought on possible family retribution. "Honor" violence isn't anything to laugh at.
But considering a trend of bombers disguised as women anyone (of any religion) with a full body covering can be considered suspicious.

"Borat" is more of a documentary than what this fakery was. It's like Pallywood or Michael Moore in his worst moments.
The second you start giving instructions to your subjects you risk blurring reality and fiction; the line is definitely broken if you start deceiving the audience in this way.

I'm not worried about a woman in a burqa doing boom, because it could just as likely be a recruited/converted white guy with a backpack.
What I would be worried about if the woman would get in trouble for interacting with a male not in her family. If I were a woman I would not hesitate to help. As it is now, I would ask her "is it OK if I help you"?

Exactly. If a portion of white grandmothers had a tendency to blow themselves up around bystanders I'd be hesitant to help them out. Not racism it's the survival instinct.
