I read ahead and apparently you're quite the hypocrite. How is calling me a violent war mongering hippie NOT childish name calling? FIRST, how DARE you call me war mongering! I couldn't be more opposed! you dont know me. THAT'S childish... second, no one says the stupid church cant perform marriages. not only did I not call anyone names, no one said they cant. ITS THE CHURCH WHO DOESNT WANT THE STATE TO MARRY GAYS. WTF is so hard to grasp about this? its not the church's business!

But this is about marriage, which isn't religious anymore. :o Jews, Protestants, Katholics, New Agies, Pastafarians all have ceremonies, but it's not about the ceremony (which we call Marriage, no matter what believe), it's about the rights that go with it. So we have a concept far stretching one believe, but is part of our broad human culture, so there is no reason to exclude gays (or blacks, lall people, blondes, ... ). Even Atheists propose and get married.

Not an ignorant statement, the problem is "Liberals" love to kill the rights of others while claiming open minded free thought and calling everyone ignorant with an opposing view. The Church should have a right to perform the religious ceremony on people at their discretion and if gays want to have a state sanctioned marriage go see a justice of the peace, or a gay supporting preacher. compromise.

You think that its up to a church to marry people. well, my friend, youre mistaken. marriage is offically sanctioned through the STATE. no one is coming anywhere near your *rights* YOURE CHURCH is destroying other's rights by trying to influence the government to not allow same-sex marriage, even though your church should have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with it.

You keep saying "Don't take our Rights". I don't get this. Do you mean not everyone has the same rights? Who else? Women? Blacks? Elders? What's wrong with a gay scoutleader? Is there something wrong with a guy training a girl soccerteam? or a women training a boy dancegroup? (sry for stereotypes :) And yes. He bloody has to. You think a racist preacher is allowed to disallow blacks to marry? Of course, at first, no gay couple will f*** its marriage over by hiring an Ahole for a priest.
