Go, Boris. Well cool the way he speaks of the great legend. He was no slouch himself.

que puedo decir? yo jugaba con esa raqueta Donnay Borg Pro, Borg era lo máximo en ese tiempo.

I see your point but i wish he would've won al least 16-18 slams..........
cholulasaucehot (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
he was the best, had reached the top...why continue.....
KidTunder (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Well he didn't play the Aussie Open. Few top players did in the late 70s/early 80s.

what a pitty that Borg called it a career after this match. He was only 25 years old.
KidTunder (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Well but Borg never won the US Open, even though he reached the final 4 times.

Borg was absolutely mesmerising; a total enigma with god-like status; he was like some kind of superhuman. There was an enormous gap between him & the rest of the pack. It is hard to convey just how superior he was; it had got to the point where other players were totally intimidated by him & believed he was unbeatable. Hence the shock when McEnroe beat him. There is no-one comparable to Borg - no-one who has that kind of total domination not even Federer since he has not yet won the French. |
