P.S. I completely forgot to vote -- egads! I've just now rated you top honors (five stars) for your heartfelt gift.

Stunningly done. Is it all right with you if I share this with his family? We just had the final tribute for him yesterday, in Los Angeles. It was bittersweet and "Altmanesque" indeed.

I'd never even heard of 'Vincent & Theo' until just now! Have just added it to my Ziplist. Cheers!

He was such a good artist. Most film directors can only dream of making that one great film; Altman made many. From 'MASH', 'McCabe & Mrs.Miller', 'Nashville', '3 Women', 'the Player', 'Short Cuts', 'Gosford Park'. Some people might only know him from 'Popeye', that wonderful musical comedy with Robin Williams. He made a movie called 'Vincent & Theo' about Van Gogh, and oddly, that movie, about the act of creating, is what I want to see the most right now.

Well done.
Poignant, but not schmaltzy. |
