I'm not convinced Obama believes in the bible, he just has to, if he didn't he wouldn't be where he is now. You MUST be a person of faith, well, you must be a Christian to get a nomination in this country. End of fucking story.

I did a Google search on this: -- "Alec Baldwin" asshole -- and guess how many hits came up? Only about 41,200. Baldwin is a socialist, elitist a-hole deluxe who believes he knows what's best for you "the little people." Americans need to quit allowing Hollywood to spew its political agenda all over us. Want to be a Democrat? Want to be a Republican? Either way, it's your decision. But NEVER let a celebrity talk you into it.

i was raised by a catholic mother, i just don't share her beliefs. i assume that's what happens with bill, since he has expressed his views on organized religion more than once and he's very clear that he doesn't believes in deities. he does believe jesus lived and that he (jesus) was a good role model, if people followed the things he supposedly teached (humility, kindness, etc...).

while i don't disagree that he's a rationalist that enforces logical thinking, i do have to say he is an atheist. atheism is defined by the absence of belief in deities. by that definition, bill maher is an atheist.

@v1tali: bill maher is an atheist, an agnostic believes in a higher power. they just don't believe in "God" per se. @mynameisjohnb: what bill maher says is that someone that lets religion impair their judgement is not fit to run a country. obama and palin are different because while obama can separate one thing and the other, palin can not. plus, obama is open to logic, discussion and different hypothesis. he just happens to believe in god, a lot of people do.
