It amazes me how many engineers RUIN good vocals just for the sake of using their tools. I know he was just demonstrating the software but still, these kinds of things are way overused now and pretty much destroy any musicality that was in the performance. Now I have Melodyne but I probably use it on 1 out of 10 projects I mix. Also, I think if I change even 5% of the track even slightly, that's pretty heavy for me. Even the best pitch correction still sucks.

technology hasn't come that far yet, if u cant get your hands on the acapella more than likely, its not gonna happen.

I have Cakewalk Music Creator 3... is it possible to get these effects with the software I currently own?

technically, that's impossible. unless, say you happen to have the instrument track that is 100% identical to the track you'd like to duck those instruments from, which then you have phase cancel to isolate the vox, but the instrument track needs to be 100$ to the original track.
