There are aesthetic qualities to both a square and an octagon. One has more sides, but both are aesthetically pleasing. It is a bit like your argument over technical skill when playing.
I definitely like the way talent sounds ;)
Two very good bands! I do know that music is mathematical, but mathematics doesn't have feeling; that is obvious. Both bands have feeling, and they connect with the audiences, and they are not manufactured. I'm so happy about this!

btbam are a good band, and they are technically very good. I think they are more technical than Opeth, but I do not think they are as artistic.
Btbam have less room for improvisation and I think they play with less feeling because they are very technical. This does make logical sense.
Nevertheless, Opeth and btbam are very different bands... very different bands. I don't think it is fair to say one is better than the other. Opeth has a nice blend of styles and the song structures are V unique

To me, tool sound like progressive nu metal, and sometimes is reminds me of disturbed.
