i didnt say it had to be from the 50's to be rockabilly. i know there are many great rockabilly bands from other eras. i didnt express myself clearly, it was more of my opinion, that the stray cats aren't from the 50's and (i) wouldnt make a conection &say that listenin' to them would make me want to live in the 50's because the sound alone isnt like the rockabilly from the 50's. i would say that if listening to something like the bluecaps or buddy holly.

Rockabilly isn't a decade, it's a genre. There are plenty of rockabilly bands that aren't from the 50's. Rockabilly BEGAN in the 50's, yes, but you don't have to be FROM the 50's to play rockabilly.
