I believe he's implying too much about the story , that the audience gets the sense that the story of film is not like the one that he's describing , althought i have to consider that audiences at that time , didnt have so much concept of horror movies like we do today ..

I think it's interesting that old trailers act like the events of the movie already happened while new trailers act like they're GOING to happen.
