This is one of my all time favorite songs. My sister and I used to dance to this in my mom's living room.

He co-produced this with Deneice, and while they were working on her album Nicey, she learned that they both loved this song and had wanted to re-do it and it became a # 1 R&B hit

Along with Susaye Greene who co-wrote Free with Deneice and replaced Cindy Birdsong in The Supremes from 1976-1977

I've enjoyed Ms. Williams work since the 1st song I heard from Free.

This is actually a remake, but Deniece made this her song, sometimes remakes don't sound very good, this is an excellent cover.

Correct. Today it's all about marketing, looks, shaking butts, and all manner of foolishness that has nothing to do with being a professional musician or singer. Someone with talent who has studied, learned, is creative, and has worked hard to perfect their craft makes most of today's singers seem amateurish, boring, and childish. |
