It is not a book. Dia just wrote a story (not a book) and then took the lyrics out of the song. The story she wrote was based on East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

They wrote this about a story, not sure if it's real. I forget. It's in their blog, an old post though, you have to search for it. But it's like this little boy is called 'Monster' by his parents, and is forced to called his Mom 'Hannah', and he rapes a girl and then kills himself because of the guilt. That's the short story, not sure if it's all correct, I know it's in an old entry of their blog on Myspace though.

They probably relate it to Twilight because the song is called "Monster" and The chorus is "Monster. How Should I feel? Creatures lie here looking through the window" And they relate it to Twilight because Vampires are supossdly 'monsters' :) Well thats what I think

Dia wrote a story related to the book East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

It's actually based on East of Eden and a story that Dia wrote connected to it. It is about a boy who grew up in a house where his father would beat his mother and then beat him and in the story it says "At church I was Henry, At school I was Henry, At home I was Monster," then he grows up and rapes a girl because he wants love and then kills himself because he saw "their nightmares were his dreams," and he "bathes in kerosene." It makes sense if you fit the story into the song.
