Professional photographers Bob Krist and Joe McNally are featured in what is far-and-away the best resource to date on Nikon's speedlight system and how to use CLS effectively. It starts with Krist in the studio teaching you the basics -- and nuts-and-bolts control how-to's -- then goes out into the field. There, Bob takes on the roll as the color man to Joe's lead as they work together to pull off a variety of sophisticated shots using Nikon speedlights. Congrats to Nikon for significantly dialing up the educational portion video as compared to the "Speed of Light" DVD of a few years ago. Yes, it is specific to the Nikon system and designed to help sell gear. But the educational content is there -- they show everything you would need to know. (Uploaded with permission from Nikon.)

Agreed David. Unfortunately the two locals both didn't order it for stock, even though they sell every 'Use your D-SLR DVD'.MPEX didn't have it, so I got it from B&H and watched the first few chapters tonight. I could have done without the music the whole first intro part. You spoiled us with straightforward production on the Strobist DVD Set!{seriously, it was very well done} It was cool to see that Bob Krist uses the Stroboframe cold shoes with the red screw. I need 3 or 4 of those.

If your 'local Nikon dealer' is not carrying this, I would suggest finding a different 'local Nikon dealer.' I am all for supporting local dealers, but I would not support one with that little commitment to learning.

I am looking forward to seeing this as well. I went to my local Nikon Dealer today and they told me they 'decided not to bring that DVD in'. Whatever- so I'll buy it for less from Amazon no problem. I just would have liked to throw it right in the DVD player.
