well its a contradiction depending on the perspective you see it from. whether or not the US is a "good" influence in the middle east. on your angle of interpretation i agree that since we have neither shown (in my opinion) good or evil tendencies with the middle east but rather confusion, it shows we are completely absent in the ability to be an arbiter of good OR evil. the USA has made these decisions not out of good or evil though. we've taken this approach with interest, not justice.

One whoole I found in the Rabbi's perspective is that God and religion must exist and be true for without it man would have no morals to govern himself. Also states man is not a good arbiter of good and evil, incapable of police oneself but yet he supports President Bush and the US obviously acting as an arbiter for Middle East. WOW, what a contradiction.

Got ya. I had a different understanding, in that although we do not actually pocess free will on any level (IMO), We have to pretend that it exists in order to have a society. One has to be responsible for ones 'actions'. Just because a serial killer was raped as a kid, we still have to lock him up. His path was determined, but if we act as if it were, we are fucked. That's what I thought he meant by having no choice. Your explanation makes more sense.
