I've been signing with both my kids since they were born (My oldest is ten and youngest is three) It's part of our life, in fact, My oldest in in choir and she'll be signing and singing "Peace On Earth"

We taught sign language to our daughter, who had severely delayed speech due to (unbeknownst to us at that time) autism spectrum disorder. She didn't speak until she was over two, but because of signing, she was able to communicate to us so well she could string small sentences together with sign language, even "please" and "Thank you"!
Thanks to ASL, she had such a good grasp on language that when she did start speaking, she went from 0 to hundreds of words in just a few short weeks. :)

What a precious child! My guess is she doesnt cry as much as the average baby - because she has better means to express what she wants. My guess is most babies cry out of frustration that they want something and cant say "milk" or "cheerios". what a great teacher you are!
