Maybe someone can answer this... I know Brain originally had a Raoux horn and eventually switched to a Alex Bb single... I've seen pictures of the latter and it looks like it has a trigger even though it was a single... does anyone know about this? was it a stop valve?

I was weaned on Denis Brain's recordings of the Mozart concerti. Always a huge fan and admirer, but I never liked how he sort of spits out his low notes. I always felt that they should be treated a bit more gently. A quality he more than amply shows in the lyrical sections of this Beethoven. A spectacular talent and what a joy to see this video.

dude i like totally have this solo. my band director thought it would be best for my level...compliment or insult? i sounded pretty good but obviously it would've been better with a piano
