Beautiful alphabet vignette from Sesame Street circa the late '70s. Better known as "Madrigal Alphabet", the music is by Donald Byrd and the animation is by Jeff Hale, also known for the Pinball Number Count, The Typewriter Guy, and the Ringmaster series, according to MuppetWiki. A gift from my site, The Sesame Street Lyrics Archive, enjoy! The broadcast of this video is authorized by Sesame Workshop. Thank you so much!

This is fantastic! I think this video should get tons of credit. It taught the alphabet in an interesting way. Sesame street never was boring. It was always special and unique. I look at it now and wish it was back to the classic stuff like this.

Wow, you haven't seen much art, have you? Take a look at paintings of Cupid sometime. He's probably the most infamous naked, flying little boy.

Has anyone noticed that the creatures that make up the M are an 'Asian' steriotype?

I remember this one well, the background music seemed powerful and majestic to me as a kid. Here's a crazy thought - This music probably wouldn't sound too out of place in a Led Zeppelin song.
