ok explane that improv he did like in the second half of the song... not enough flavor for you? and dude eddie was good, but like he was hi half the dam time and didn't play with p funk for a while, that's why they replaced him at first, cus he was hi off his ass more than everyone else

it was fuzzface connected to a wah pedal, then at the end of the recording he used a fuzz pedal that was low on battery

If somebody wants to blame a genre for the rise of shitty music its disco. after disco waned hip hop and "shitty rock" broke through, gone are the days when funk, soul and true rock reigned supreme. Having said that there are some good bands out there with that old soul. They will remain underground never making it because too many people hate this music in favour of lifeless repetitive beats and diluted punk

Hi Punkgunner, To answer your question, George Clinton placed Eddie Hazel in a room surrounded by amps and told him to, "Play as if your mother died". The many many amps probably helped with the over all sound.

Only live version I've ever seen that comes anywhere near the distortion of the original? BTW, does anyone know how that was done? The heavy recording from the album, that is. Oh yeah, and Michael Hampton loves to throw in shit @ the end of this song - this time its AC/DC's "Big Balls" at 13:41

wow, well the skill is definitely there, but he seems to really be missing the soul and emotion found when eddie plays it. Also he sticks too closely to the original song, obviously it's a cover but it seems too much like he just copied it and that never (rarely) makes a good cover. If you don't add your own flavor, then you're competing with the original and in this case...no one beats the original.
