Could you imagine, if when humans began exploration of this planet, and found new civilizations (aboriginals, different races, etc); If they had have realized something like "Hey, let's shelter, feed, and educate these people, because this is another group of humans that could add to our intelligence, and better our way of living." Could you imagine the potential of human beings? The standard of living and technological advancement would be uncomprehendable. What a disgrace humans really are.

The Drake Equation isn't exactly accurate--you are right. But I don't think that the predictions were too wishful. I'd say they are relatively accurate. But am I willing to bet on the number of civilizations based on this equation? Certainly not.
