in rushmore, max fisher first convinces his school to remove latin from the curriculum because it's a dead language, but then tries to get them to get it again because he has the hots for his teacher who loves latin. i don't remember the context exactly...but it's something like that.

Ugh. I absolutely HATE IT when music videos pussy out and convey something completely different from what the lyrics convey. I don't even care if they have to be sexually explicit, I'd just like them to act out precisely what the lyrics say. This music video doesn't incite any strong emotional response. But the song by itself definitely does. I interpret it as a guy going to a hotel where he has sex for the first time, but he's not sure he wants to, whereas the girl has had sex many times.

Pretty sure the song is about the pressures and anxiety of having sex for the first time for men. People always talk about a girl's first time but he's trying to convey how nervous it is for a guy as well. Just what I think

its ultimately about doing something you really don't want to, and it screws you over. so in the video he comes running, out after he did "something" he regrets. so he goes running to the bar and when he gets there, everyone is the same and is like him. the point is he is just like everyone else, which he wishes he hadn't done that "something". hes frustrated with himself, and refuses to do it again (as seen by the two girls he started to touch, but didn't.) thats just what i think. sick song.
